Konami has confirmed its two-game Silent Hill HD Collection, will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 29th. The publisher has also unveiled a teaser trailer for the eagerly-anticipated compilation.

The Silent Hill HD Collection doesn’t quite live up to the billing however, given that it comprises of just the second and third games from the series. Still, that Silent Hill 2 remains one of our all-time favourite games, means the ‘Collection’ is welcome; but we can’t help but think the decision not to include the original game, certainly Silent Hill 4: The Room and perhaps even Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is an odd one.

Expect completely-updated HD make-overs of the two included games however, while soundtracks of each have been re-recorded, as has all dialogue – reuniting the original vocal artists. The included version of Silent Hill 2 also features the exclusive stages from the original Director’s Cut supplemental release.
