‘Reactions from around the world justified the time and care we put into developing Guild Wars 2 and making it into the game it is today’, said ArenaNet’s president and co-founder Mike O’Brien. ‘And this is only the beginning. We’re continually fine-tuning the game to deliver the polished experience that our players expect, and we’re already working on new adventures and experiences to introduce into this truly dynamic online world.’
Guild Wars 2, which launched just over two weeks ago, went straight in at number one in the UK’s all formats charts but slipped down on its second week of sale due to the corrective action taken by ArenaNet. However, with peak concurrency ‘regularly exceeding 400,000 players’ it seems clear that demand for the game remains high signalling a return to the top of the sales chart might not be too far away.
We’ve yet to post our final review of Guild Wars 2 due to the sheer scale of the game, but our very own Tom Mendelsohn has been hard on the case and has recorded his progress in what we’re calling his ‘Guild Wars 2 play diary’ so make your way here and here for his first two entries.
